Terms
OpenVocally is free software. There is nothing to buy, no account and nothing to sign. The license below is the only set of rules for the app.
Who makes it
OpenVocally is a non-commercial open-source project. The privacy policy names who is responsible for it. Contact: privacy@openvocally.com.
The license
The app and its source code are licensed under theGNU General Public License, version 3 (GPL-3.0). You don't need to accept it to download or use the app. It gives you the right to run, study, change and share OpenVocally, for any purpose and for free. If you share a copy or your own changes, the GPL-3.0 asks you to pass on the same rights and the source code. The license text decides; this page only summarizes it.
No warranty
OpenVocally is provided free of charge and "as is". As sections 15 and 16 of the GPL-3.0 say, to the extent permitted by applicable law there is no warranty, and the author is not liable for damages arising from its use. Speech recognition makes mistakes, so check important text before you send it.
Nothing on this page limits any right or liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including your rights as a consumer.
Speech models and updates
The speech models are made by third parties and downloaded from Hugging Face. Each comes with its own license, shown on its Hugging Face page. Official releases check GitHub for updates and, unless you turn it off in Settings, install them on their own. The privacy policy explains what these connections send.
Trademarks
The GPL-3.0 covers the code. It does not give you the right to use the OpenVocally name or logo in a way that suggests your version or product is the official one.
This website
openvocally.com describes the app. Its content is for information only and may change at any time.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. A new version of this page does not change the license of a copy you already have.
